This 14ct yellow gold stone set locket has lots of lovely features. The locket is hinged to open for the display of a photograph or probably originally a lock of hair. The front of the locket has a three tiered appearance. The bottom tier is set with 22 garnets in a diamond pattern with a 14ct gold rope effect trim to it. The second tier is 14ct gold and has a slotted finish to it. The rope effect edge is also present on this tier. The third tier has a matt, heavily engraved finish and this is the opening hinged part of the locket. The centre is set with a diamond in a star set pattern.  The back of the locket is plain, highly polished yellow gold and will sit flat against the chest. To give an idea of scale, the locket measures approximately 40mm x 30mm. The locket is on a heavyweight solid 9ct yellow gold diamond cut belcher chain which is 457mm (18”) in length.
