This pre-owned locket is a lovely piece of fine jewellery. It was handmade in Britain by Payton Pepper and Sons Ltd, who were said to be British manufacturers of the ‘best lockets in the world’. The 9ct yellow gold locket is hinged to open for the display of two photographs. The front side of the locket is hand engraved with a fancy floral motif. The back of the locket is plain polished yellow gold. To give an idea of scale, the locket measures approximately 29mm x 36mm. The locket is on a heavyweight solid 9ct yellow gold belcher chain which is 485mm (19”) in length.
