This Omega Speedmaster Professional ‘Moonwatch’ features an black bezel with a tachymetric scale, three small chronograph dials with luminous batons and hands and a transparent case back. This is the 311.30.42.30.01.006 model with box and papers dated 2019. It has a 2-year warranty from ourselves.

The 42mm stainless steel cases houses an Omega 1863 calibre manual winding chronograph movement with a rhodium plated finish. Iconic descendant of the calibre that was worn on the moon, this model has a power reserve of 48 hours.  It is in full working order. The transparent case back to the watch allows the movement to be seen.

The watch comes with the original Omega double door box including outer, and cardboard Omega outer, special Omega ‘Moonwatch’ presentation box, two operating instructions manuals, ‘Moonwatch’ history information booklet, pictograms and warranty card dated 2019 in a red suedette document wallet. The ‘Moonwatch’ presentation box also contains Omega swing ticket, Omega NATO and material straps, Omega tool to change the straps, Omega jewellers loupe and Speedmaster disk.

Case Condition: Mint with no noticeable marks.  Bracelet Condition: Excellent with no noticeable marks. Dial and Glass condition: Mint with no noticeable marks.  The movement is in full working order.  The stainless steel bracelet will fit a wrist size up to 195mm.

The Omega Speedmaster launched in 1957 and is iconic having been part of all six lunar space missions. It has remained relatively unchanged since its launch.  When Apollo 11 landed on the moon in July 1969, the astronauts were wearing Speedmaster chronographs. The model, then and now, features the tachymetric scale on the bezel which is used to calculate speed.  In April 1970 the aptitude of the watch was fully put to the test when an explosion on Apollo 13 rendered its computer systems inoperative. Relying solely on their Speedmasters, the crew had to time a precise 13.8 second engine burn to re-angle the craft to re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere safely.

The watch features a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment inside. As well as the tachymetric bezel the dial features a small seconds sub dial, a 30 minute recorder and a 60 minute recorder dial and a chronograph seconds hand. The stainless steel bracelet with a fold over clasp that is adjusted to fit is made from 903L stainless steel, a product normally reserved for the chemical industry due to its high resistance against corrosion. The watch is waterproof to a depth of 50m (167 feet).  The classic design and features of this watch have remained relatively unchanged since its conception. It is superb model whether it is being worn for practical or aesthetic reasons.
